Microsoft has just stopped selling its 12 months Xbox Live Gold Subscriptions. Xbox fans are now speculating that the service might be stopped and a newer one would be introduced with Xbox Series X. Some say that online games will now become completely free on Xbox. Whatever the case is, from now on, players can only sign up for 1 month or 3 month Xbox Live Gold Subscription.

“At this time Xbox has decided to remove the 12 months Xbox Live Gold SKU from the Microsoft Online Store,” a company spokesperson told Inverse. “Customers can still sign up for a 1 month or 3 month Xbox Live Gold subscription online through the Microsoft Store.”

Maybe, Xbox has planned to beat its competitor Sony with making online gaming free. This can definitely hurt its competitor, and also attract more consumers toward the service. If you don’t know, well the Xbox Live Gold Subscription allows players to play games online, get discounts, and some free games.

Microsoft in the past week has really made a lot of headlines. Yesterday, we heard about the Xbox S, and the end to the Xbox One X Production. There is something Microsoft and Xbox Team is really up to, but we don’t know what it is. Right now, we only know that Xbox Series S is something that might be released in the coming months.
