Asus has never disappointed its users so this time Asus has finally released the much-awaited Android Pie (9.0) update for its Asus ZenFone 5 Lite (ZC600KL) phone, which is also known as ZenFone 5Q or ZenFone 5 Selfie Pro in some markets. The news about the release of this update was announced on the company’s own forum which is Zen Talk. It is surprised to see that the company has decided to roll out some major Operating System update for its budget and mid-ranged smartphone which is Asus ZenFone 5, considering the fact that the flagship Asus ZenFone series received its Android Pie (9.0) update very late like somewhere in January,2019.

According to a post shared by Asus representatives on its ZenTalk, the ZenFone 5 Lite, ZenFone 5Q, ZenFone 5 Selfie Pro is also receiving the same Android 9.0 Pie update, which also lead to bump up the firmware version of number to 16.0610.1905.79.

Adding to that, the post also notes that because of this, a server-side update also delivered in batches to different serial numbers, and it may take some time for the over-the-air (OTA) update to be installed into your device, if it has not yet installed. You can also manually adjust by going over to Settings, then System, to check if the firmware is available for your device or not.

To recall, the dual-SIM phone, Asus ZenFone 5 Lite was launched at MWC around in February 2018, alongside the other two phones, ZenFone 5 and Zenfone 5Z. The smartphone has a 6-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) with an IPS display, and an 80.3 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone also ran an Android 8.0 Oreo at its launch and is also equipped with a 3,300mAh battery.

There’s also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC that is under the hood of the Asus ZenFone 5 Lite, coupled with either 3GB of RAM and 32GB storage or with 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage, both of which are further expandable to 2 TB of storage via micro SD card. If we observe this phone in terms of cameras, there is a 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and with a secondary 8-megapixel sensor. There is a dual camera setup at the front of the phone as well, that constitutes a 20-megapixel primary sensor with an 8-megapixel secondary sensor.
