Apple held an education event in Chicago today in which they introduced the new iPad. As expected, according to past rumors a new, cheaper iPad, oriented for education was expected and Apple made it official today with a refreshed 9.7-inch iPad with Apple Pencil support. The updated iPad will be available in Apple stores today, in silver, space gray, and a new gold finish. The tablet will include Touch ID, an HD FaceTime camera, 10 hours of battery life, an 8-megapixel rear camera, LTE option, and Apple’s A10 Fusion chip.
299$ For Students and 329$ for everyone else
Apple has been taking good steps for today’s educational advancements, as we have discussed before in our previous article, Today on the launch day of the new iPad, Apple is giving priority to the students once again by offering the iPad a little cheaper for the students and teachers. However, the price tag for the common consumer is 329$. An optional Apple Pencil will be priced at $89 for students and teachers and the regular $99 price for common consumers. This is obviously not the $259 budget iPad pricing that was rumored, but it does make it a little more affordable to students and teachers.
Key features of the new iPad
