Cyberpunk 2077 single player was delayed from April to September because the game needs more time. Furthermore, the multiplayer will also be released sometime in 2021, making things even worse. You can read about these two delays here.
Cyberpunk 2077 Multiplayer won’t be out till 2021.
Cyberpunk 2077 Release Date has been delayed.
Everyone thought that because Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed, the team and everyone will get a bit relaxed because now they will have more time, however, this is not entirely true. A recent Q&A conference call, CD Projekt Red CO-CEO Adam Kicinsk said that the development team will have to put more hours as the game launch approaches. “They try to limit crunch as much as possible, but it is the final stage. We try to be reasonable in this regard, but yes. Unfortunately [the team will be required to crunch].”
CD Projekt Red was previously criticized by many people due to the insane schedule they demand from workers. The goal of Cyberpunk 2077 according to many sources was to be a bit “More Humane”. This goal was set because previous Witcher 3 developers were required to work on extra long hours, weekends, and holidays.
Furthermore, the CD Projekt Red Glass Door page also has a poor reputation, an overall rating of 3.6 only. The company employees have stated many reasons like low pay, long hours, bad management, and fake goals. Developers are facing too much pressure on their life, and the pay is surprisingly not that good comparing other Polish companies, which are located in the capital Warsaw.
Apart from CD Projekt Red, other massive companies like Rockstar, BioWare, and Riot have also been accused of many weird things. I can imagine the pressure on everyone because they are developing the most hyped game of 2020. The management cannot compromise on anything, and it is a very big project, thus the pressure. Furthermore, people can question CD Projekt Red’s release date announcement. Why in the first place, they said April, CD Projekt Red is a massive company, and they should have predicted the right time for development to end. It is frustrating for developers, who are paid less and required to work extra long hours, CD Projekt Red should pay extra for long hours, else it’ll be a bit unfair for those who are getting away from life.
