Cyberpunk 2077 release date was moved from April to September, this means that players who pre-purchased the game will have to wait almost 8 months before they can play it. Well, if this news was sad for you, I want to let you know that Cyberpunk 2077 multiplayer won’t be out until after 2021.
CD Projekt Red made a Q&A session with their investors, in which they spoke that multiplayer gameplay of Cyberpunk 2077, and its components are delayed to 2021. Furthermore, CD Projekt Red says that another “Triple-A” Project which was in development last year, is the Cyberpunk 2077 component. The project was being developed steadily, on par with Cyberpunk 2077, however, there is no chance that it’ll be released in 2020.
“Given the expected release of Cyberpunk 2077 in September, and the series of events which we expect to occur after that stage, 2021 appears unlikely as a release date for Cyberpunk multiplayer,” SVP of business development Micha? Nowakowski said during the call. Later on, it’s repeated that multiplayer will “probably move out of 2021.”
Despite these delays, CD Projekt Red says that they will still be present on E3 and Gamescom this year, hence expect some awesome gameplay footage. Furthermore, I am quite happy with the release date delay, because I’d rather play an optimized proper game, instead of a buggy and badly ported game, like Red Dead Redemption 2. CD Projekt Red is very confident with their release date decision, they recalled “We pretty much know where we stand, and which aspects of the game will still require work,” Nowakowski said. “We’re confident the game will be released on the 17th of September.”
