Three months ago in January, we heard that CD Projekt Red has delayed the release for Cyberpunk 2077. Afterward, in February they also delayed Multiplayer for Cyberpunk 2077. The game which was set to release in April was delayed to September 17, 2020.

No More Delays Despite the Pandemic
Despite the COVID-19 Threat, many game companies have further delayed their projects. However, CD Projekt Red is confident that Cyberpunk 2077 will release on September 17, 2020.

In an interview, the game company’s president Adam Kici?ski said that employees are working remotely, and no disruptions have happened ever since.

“Since mid-March we have been working from home, while ensuring continuity of all our of operations,” Kici?ski said.

“Our goals haven’t changed; first and foremost, we intend to release Cyberpunk 2077 in September. We feel motivated and have the necessary tools at our disposal to meet this goal.

“We also believe that our longstanding strategy of avoiding debt and accumulating cash reserves makes us well prepared to meet any hardships which may be in store during these troubled times,” he added.

COVID-19 Delays
Well ESA first confirmed that E3 is advancing rapidly despite COVID-19 threat. Afterward, they suspended the event for the first time in 25 years. Similarly, Sony also announced the delay of some games and Movies including Uncharted last month.
Many Esports events along popular announcements for upcoming games and movies were also moved to Online events. Most of them were first delayed and later suspended.

The company also announced that they are working on a New Witcher 4 Game. CD Projekt Red seems to have taken good initiatives before the breakdown in Poland. We must realize the situation in Poland looks to be more in control than rest of Europe and U.S. where majority game companies are based.
