Recently, a lot of events, tournaments, and shows have been delayed or suspended because of Coronavirus. The dangerous disease is spreading all over the world, and it has killed more than 2500 people. First, Overwatch and League of Legends matches in China were delayed, because the virus was very active in China. After a few weeks, there were huge patients infected by the virus all over Europe and other parts of Asia. Yesterday the ESL Katowice grand finals were played without crowd because of the virus.
ESA, which is responsible for E3 events has shared their thoughts on the issue. “Everyone is watching the situation very closely,” the ESA told Vice Games. “We will continue to be vigilant, as our first priority is the health, wellness and safety of all of our exhibitors and attendees. Given what we know at this time, we are moving ahead full speed with E3 2020 planning. Exhibit and registration sales are on track for an exciting show in June.”
ESA is looking very confident with its planning. The organizers clearly mentioned that they are moving at full speed for the E3. We have seen Microsoft, Epic Games, EA, Facebook, Nintendo, ESL, Riot, Blizzard, and Steam delaying their respective priorities. Some events were rescheduled, some are being played online and most of them are being suspended. Apart from the Gaming and Tech Industry, football games are also suffering.
Lastly, this virus has numerous cases all across the globe now. Travelers who actively moved from China to other parts are being blamed for this rapid spread.
