A few days ago, Facebook jumped in the Microsoft war with Apple. Facebook sided with Microsoft agreeing what they had to say about Apple. It wasn’t a big surprise because we all know that Microsoft joined hands with Facebook a few months ago after Mixer collapsed and they had to partner up for Facebook Gaming.
Anyhow, now the European Union has stepped forward and said that they are aware of the Game Pass problem with Apple. This might be fatal for Apple if the European Union starts an investigation. Previously in June, they already criticized four of Apple’s policies. Out of these four, three were related to its App Store and were circled around the same restrictive meta.
The Commission spokeswoman Arianna Podesta said that the European Union was aware of the issues. “The Commission is aware of these concerns regarding Apple’s App Store rules.”
Microsoft wasn’t able to introduce Xbox Game Pass on iOS. After Apple demanded that each game from Game Pass should be submitted individually for review. Afterward, they would be allowed to publish. Microsoft previously said that “Apple stands alone as the only general-purpose platform to deny consumers from cloud gaming and game subscription services like Xbox Game Pass.”
Facebook also spoke about Apple Store policies and said that its App had its features removed to comply with Apple Store policies. These features completely changed their App, and now it does not allow users to play games.
“It consistently treats gaming apps differently, applying more lenient rules to non-gaming apps even when they include interactive content,” it added in an emailed statement.
