Evil Genius 2: World Domination has been delayed to 2021. According to Rebellion, they had problems with development from home, and things didn’t go as planned. On top of that, COVID-19 also impacted their productions. Therefore, they will need more time.

The announcement was made on Twitter, and it had few words to say.

“We want to deliver a sequel that will do justice to the franchise and be loved and played by the Evil Genius community for years to come, just like the original. And while we know many of you will be disappointed to wait a little longer, launching next year affords us the time to do precisely that.”

“One of the things we most prize about Rebellion is our independence, which allows us the freedom to do what’s right for our games, and our staff,” reads the notice. “We’ll announce a final release date as soon as we can.”

Other than this, the announcement also mentions that in the coming months, they might share the insights into Closed Beta. I think this was a good decision to delay the game because we don’t want an optimized and half finish game. Times and times again stuff like this has happened and has never done anything good. Lastly, a fan asked Evil Genius on twitter if there is 2 man coop in the game. Evil Genius replied it is single-player campaign only.
