Season 3 which was previously from April 30 to June 3 has been delayed once again. This time the delay has been caused by the #BlackLivesMatter Movement that is protesting the unjust killing of George Floyd.

In an announcement, Epic Games Blog stated that they are delaying the Season 3 once again. Moreover, the upcoming live event, The Device is also going to be delayed. The upcoming Season is now scheduled to Mid-June.

“Recent events are a heavy reminder of the ongoing injustices in our society, from the denial of basic human rights to the impact of racism both overt and subtle against people of color. We’re acutely aware of the pain our friends, families, team members, players, and communities are experiencing.

We believe in equality and justice, diversity and inclusion, and that these fundamentals are above politics.

The team is eager to move Fortnite forward, but we need to balance the Season 3 launch with time for the team to focus on themselves, their families, and their communities.

The live event The Device will be delayed to Monday, June 15, and the Season 3 launch delayed to Wednesday, June 17. We know this delay comes on the heels of another one, and we appreciate your patience and understanding during these difficult times.”

The death of George Floyd has caused massive protests across the U.S. A lot of shops, roads, and cities are filled with havoc. Yesterday, Infinity Ward announced that they will be delaying the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Warzone, and COD: Mobile Upcoming Season’s. Similarly, CD Projekt Announced that Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event is being postponed to 25th June. And lastly, the major PS5 Event which was very anticipated was also canceled. In the coming days, we can expect new dates for all of these cancelled events. So far things are not getting better, and we might end up seeing most of these events next month.
