Epic Games continues to fight with Apple. In a new update, the Epic Blog posted that they will no longer be able to sync updates and release fixes for older problems. Along with this, Fortnite: Save the World will no longer be playable on macOS.
“Apple is preventing Epic from signing games and patches for distribution on Mac, which ends our ability to develop and offer Fortnite: Save the World for the platform. Specifically, our upcoming v14.20 release will cause bugs for players on v13.40, resulting in a very poor experience.”
In case you purchased Fortnite Save the World Founders or Starter Packs. You will get an automatic refund. Other than this, any V-Bucks spent on Llamas between September 17, 2019, and September 17 will also be refunded. Epic Games has also mentioned that refunds will take up until October 2, 2020. Therefore, be patient.
So what holds for the future? well, no more Save the World Starter Packs on macOS. On top of this, no more Fortnite updates for Mac In the future. Right now the game is still playable and the build is v13.40. In order to play the latest version of Fortnite, Epic recommends continuing playing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, or Android.
