As we hear Fortnite is progressing rapidly, The Fortnite World Cup Competition this year could have been wonderful. However, the World Cup 2020 is being canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fortnite Competitive official twitter account first tweeted it, saying “Physical Events – For the rest of 2020, all Fortnite competitions will be held online.

Due to the limitations of cross-region online competition, there will not be a Fortnite World Cup in 2020.”

Despite the loss to Fortnite World Cup 2020, the game is still doing well. We heard about the Travis Scott event, which broke Fortnite concurrent player record. The previous record set by Marshmello was smashed with a couple of millions lead.

Epic Games’ decision to cancel out Fortnite World Cup 2020 was very likely. The company is now focusing that the tournament could be held next year.

COVID-19 Delays

Well ESA first confirmed that E3 is advancing rapidly despite COVID-19 threat. Afterward, they suspended the event for the first time in 25 years. Similarly, Sony also announced the delay of some games and Movies including Uncharted last month.

Many Esports events along popular announcements for upcoming games and movies were also moved to Online events. Most of them were first delayed and later suspended.
