Icarus has just been announced at the PC Gaming Show earlier today. The game features a survival meta, and it is being developed by the DayZ Developer, Dean Hall. Dean Hall was one of the first to introduce a proper survival game with advanced combat.
The gameplay revolves around an Alien World, which seems to be quiet huge. The game is Open World Survival and it is all about exploring and surviving. Moreover, the game will also feature multiplayer co-operative survival gameplay.
The story revolves around Humans. who are looking to extract rich resources, and survive. However, the environment of Icarus is quite dangerous for humans. Players will face oxygen, food, and water challenges. Similarly, there are a lot of unpredictable animals, that are easily provoked and will attack you at any time. In order to combat them, you will have to craft advanced technology, which can be done with a crew as well.
The game is also quite strategical as it mentions “Use your time wisely or be left empty-handed or even left behind. Calculate the risks, stretch your endurance and resources”. Overall, it sounds like a really fun survival game. And on top of that, there is this multiplayer feature which will further enhance the experience.
No offensive to Dean Hall, but he took ages to get DayZ to work properly. Hopefully, his latest survival game will be much better at launch and we can readily jump in action.
Icarus is set to release later this year, and it is being developed and published by RocketWerkz. You can add it to your wishlist on Steam. The game will be free to play.
