Popular YouTuber and Rapper Logic has just agreed to a multi-million dollar deal with Twitch and has decided to leave rap. In an interview with The Verge, Logic said that he had been streaming on Twitch since 2015. According to him, he loves rap not that much and prefers playing games.
“I’m not this rapper guy, man, I’m just a nerd – I love video games.”
“I’m blessed enough to have millions of fans and followers,” Logic told The Verge. “I’m going to bring new eyes to their service, they’re going to bring new money to my bank account, and – I’m just kidding.”
Logic was already streaming on Twitch, however, with this deal, he is going to stream regularly, and earn millions. Logic also appreciated Twitch, saying that its a powerful platform and allows me to connect with fans.
“I announced my retirement from music because it came to a point where I felt forced, like I had to do certain things,” he says. “And it’s not that the label made me feel that way. I was doing it to myself, because I’m such a businessman, and I was pushing myself to the brink of insanity.”
Logic says its a new era and journey for him. However, he won’t fool himself, because he will always be a musician. Likewise, he will still make some raps and do funky stuff, but never upload them. Moreover, Logic acknowledged that Twitch is going to be the place where people will enjoy him playing, and interact with him. Along with that, he said I’m not going to discuss world problems and politics because if you want me to do that, you can go and check my music.
“This is the place where if you want to interact with me, you’re going to do it here,”
We don’t know the exact amount of the deal, however, the report says it is in seven figures, which sounds insane.
