Lost Words: Beyond the Page
The game is quite adventurous, and if you are a 2D Game fan, this is your first choice. Lost Words comes from 12-year-old Izzy’s diary which is based on a fantasy world. You will have to solve various puzzles through Izzy’s writings. The game has beautiful art, and attractive story.
“Lost Words is a 2D narrative adventure game where players move words to solve puzzles. The game features a story written by Rhianna Pratchett and ties the narrative into the gameplay in an unusual way, by having the player running on and interacting with words to solve puzzles.” reads the description from Steam.
In an interview with blog site GamesRadar, Rhianna Pratchett explained her methodology behind such coming of age tale game. She also talked about more women in games, that can offer a different role.
“When we talk about diversity in games, sometimes it becomes narrowed down to needing more women in games. And it’s actually much greater than that. It’s different ethnicities, backgrounds, sexual orientations, and ages. That’s often neglected, and I’m interested in the different stories that different ages bring.”
It is only available on Stadia at the moment. However, you can add it to your wishlist on Steam, in case you forget about it next year.
