Recently Microsoft acquired Bethesda’s parent company ZeniMax In Industry breaking $7.5 Billion Deal. Microsoft and Xbox now have access to all Bethesda titles. They plan on bringing some to Game Pass, while others as exclusive.

In an interview with Inverse, Bethesda Founder Christopher Weaver shared his remarks on the deal. The Interviewer asked him question whether studio acquisition is good for the video game industry or not. Christopher Weaver said that there is a limited number of studious who can develop triple AAA titles. What Microsoft has gotten Sony with this deal, Sony cannot. Here is his statement.

“I do not think it is any accident that this announcement occurred so close to Sony’s PS5 announcement. There are only a limited number of proven creators of AAA. What Microsoft owns, Sony cannot get. There are many economies of scale that consolidation between the right partners has the capacity to provide, but the ultimate test will be evidenced by the quality of products produced over time.”

Obviously, he is right, because what Bethesda was able to achieve many studious cants. There are very few studious who have released so many franchises that have become highly successful. We are talking about Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, and many other games here. Microsoft has gotten a hands-on excellent deal.
