The popular e-commerce store, which has a subsidiary gaming company, Amazon Game Studios has delayed the release of MMO New Worlds. In an announcement, the game company said that MMO New World will be delayed from May to August 2020.
This delay has been primarily caused by the COVID-19, as their workers are unable to work together. Despite working in remote, they are unable communicate.
“Like most of you, things have changed pretty dramatically for us in the way we work and live these past few months,” game director Scot Lane said in a video update (below).
“Due to COVID-19 restrictions our entire team has been transitioned to working from home.
“We’re still working hard and we’re making progress, but because game development is so collaborative and highly technical, the remote work situation has exposed some problems we’re still trying to work through.
“As a result, we’ve had to make the difficult decision of pushing New World’s launch date to August 25, 2020.”
New World from Amazon is their current massive project. It’ll feature a vast multiplayer mod, that will further be enhanced by RPG Style gameplay. The Closed Beta testing for pre-orders might start a month early before its release.
Lastly, it is being developed by Amazon Game Studios along Double Helix Games. Additionally, New World will only be released on PC supporting Microsoft Windows.
