Call of Duty Modern Warfare is around the corner, the game is set to release on 25th October. Previously we heard that Modern Warfare has gotten new modes, you can read it here.
Well, we have news from Activision that says Modern Warfare will have no Loot box system. According to Activision, there will be a Battle pass with proper economy system.
The in-game economy system is very brilliant in my opinion. Players will get Call of Duty points by playing the game, afterward, they will also receive “functional attachments” from the game. Everything will be earned through gameplay, nothing is required to purchase.” functional attachments can be earned through gameplay, while a battle pass system and in-game store will carry a selection of cosmetic content that won’t “impact game balance,” according to Activision.
The game will support cross-play on all platforms. The Battle Pass will allow players to unlock everything through gameplay. The Battle pass and store will have a variety of cosmetic items like skins, attachments, and other stuff which will not impact the gameplay. Furthermore, Activision concept is demanding players to grind more rather than spending money to buy stuff.
However, the sad news is that the Battle Pass won’t be released on 25th October. Activision says “First and foremost, we are all focused on making the Day One experience awesome. Second, it’s important to us that everyone who is playing Modern Warfare has the chance to work their way through the new game and unlock all the rewards that are waiting for you. We expect to launch this system for Modern Warfare later this year.
The economic system was praised and criticized by a lot of community members. Its something, that we have not seen for a while in new games. The Economic system, in my opinion, could turn out to be very successful, however, you never know what happens once the game is released.
“Understandably there are still questions around how the economy will evolve throughout the post-launch, live seasons. We recognize this will take time to fully demonstrate. Please know we are committed to delivering a fair system guided by the principles we’ve outlined here, and will continue to monitor feedback and player engagement to help us achieve that goal”. – Activision
