Now that the wait is finally over, We finally got to see the raw power of the new RTX series from Nvidia making them the fastest graphics processing unit of the world as of now.
Starting with the GTX 2080, the published benchmarks from all around the web exhibit that 2080 is hovering above over the former king ‘1080ti’ by a fair lead of 8% in raw benchmarks at 1440p. We straight off jumped to 1440p skipping the 1080p because talking about 1080p just sounds absurd for these cards, considering the fact that the RTX series was made for 1440p and 4k gaming.
While RTX 2080 is 8% faster than GTX 1080 at 1440p, the RTX 2080Ti is 25% faster than 2080 at an average in non-DLS titles and adds an extra $400 premium for the 25% performance gain.
Enough of the chit-chat, let’s dive straight into the benchmarks and power consumptions of both GPU’s.
All of the benchmarks attached below are the property of Hardwarecanucks.

Call Of Duty World War II
Far Cry 5
Forza Motorsport 7
Middle Earth – Shadow of war
Rainbow Six: Siege
Warhammer II Total War
Wolfenstein New Colossus
The temperatures are same old news, here is a quick benchmark of the thermal performance over time
Looking at the charts of power consumption from Hardwarecanuks, we can conclude that the new RTX isn’t that much power friendly since the 2080Ti pulled almost 400+ watts from the wall, making it a very power hungry card. However, with great performance comes the great power requirement we can’t really complain here as the RTX series is finally giving us the 4K 60 FPS sweet spot, so I’d take it.
So, what are your thoughts? are you going to buy the new RTX Series? Let us know in the comments below!
