The coronavirus is spreading rapidly all over Asia. China is seemingly the first victim, which is currently suffering a lot. If you don’t know what coronavirus is, well here is the description. “Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause diseases in mammals, including humans, and birds. In humans, the virus causes respiratory infections which are typically mild but, in rare cases, can be lethal. In cows and pigs they may cause diarrhea, while in chickens it can cause an upper respiratory disease”
Previously, the Chinese Pro Gaming League was canceled due to player’s health at risk. Now, Overwatch League matches are also canceled. Blizzard has announced that all Overwatch League Matches, that were scheduled between February and March have been canceled. The virus is very active throughout China, and now it is rumored that European Countries along other Asian Countries have also found many victims with this case. Blizzard wrote a statement explaining that Overwatch League matches will continue in China later this year.
“We have decided to cancel our February and March matches in China in order to protect the health and safety of our players, fans, and staff,” the statement reads. “We hope fans have a safe and happy Lunar New Year, and we remain incredibly excited to play Overwatch League matches in China later this season.
“We’ll share more information about when and where the matches will take place at a later date.”
Chinese Authorities have asked civilians to avoid grouping together, traveling, and use masks at all times. According to CBS News in the the latest update, more than 125 have died, and 840 are still in Hospitals. The death toll in the coronavirus outbreak has risen to 125 in Hubei province, where the outbreak began, Chinese officials said. There have been 840 more confirmed cases in Hubei province, officials added. The announcement brings the overall death toll to more than 130 people.
