Coronavirus in China has delayed some exceptional events this year. We previously heard Outer Worlds Nintendo release, Overwatch league matches, and gaming events getting delayed in China. Blizzard is now the first company to step forward and share their plans to reschedule the games. According to a blog by Blizzard, all tournaments that were set in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Hangzhou will now take place in Seoul. Furthermore, Overwatch league matches will take place on the weekends of March 14th and March 21st. Tournaments in other countries, like ones in the USA, will be unaffected from these changes. Blizzard has yet to specify the exact time for Overwatch League games, which will start from March 7th.
Coronavirus has put a delay to a lot of chief events this year. League of Legends Pro League in China was also delayed, meanwhile, League of Legends Champions Korea is being played without spectators for safety reasons. PUBG tournament which was scheduled after Berlin for April has also been delayed without any reschedule plans.
Lastly, this virus at the moment is very active in China, but experts suggest that this can move to America and Europe. Travelers who actively move between China and Europe or America can spread the virus if they get infected. Animals along Wind can also act as a medium to spread the virus. The World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhamom Ghebreyesus says that “This is an emergency in China, but it has not yet become a global health emergency.”
