The Coronavirus has delayed a lot of events this year. Similarly, today PAX Australia 2020 has also been canceled. In a Tweet, PAX Australia wrote

“We have been working hard with our partners and exhibitors to explore all viable options but with our desire to bring you the best PAX Aus ever, the next edition of PAX Aus will now take place in 2021,”

The event was scheduled for this year on October 9-11 at the Melbourne Convention Centre, but now we are going to wait another year. As I said, a lot of events were canceled this year, however, they were moved to Digital. Gamescom 2020 one of the biggest events every year, was canceled but moved to Digital. Relatively, EVO 2020 was also canceled and then moved to digital.

The Statement from PAX Australia also indicates that they might consider a Digital Event.

“While we Canot move Forward with PAX Aus 2020 in the way we normally would, we are finding new and exciting ways to connect you and the PAX Community with your favorite content and creators”

The Online Event would be a wise and better choice. I’d recommend following Pax Australia across Social Media, and keep yourself updated with the event.

We heard about BlizzCon 2020 being cancelled. Similarly, E3 the biggest of all was cancelled for the first time in 25 years. Both events were fully cancelled, meaning no digital events either.

Update: Pax Australia has just announced that the event is moving to 12th – 20th September, and it’ll be online this year.
