We are all surrounded by more radiations than we can even imagine! This technology led era has highly affected the human well-being in multiple dimensions and harmful radiation emission is one of them. No matter how conscious the users get, there are still many areas that go unaddressed and one of those issues is not taking into account the amount of radiation a smartphone emits before purchasing one. All thanks to the German Federal Office for Radiation protection’s research that we have a list of smartphones that emit a high amount of radiation and here’s the phone that emits the most – XIAOMI MI A1!! Followed by OnePlus 5T. Based on the research conducted by the German body, list of top 16 most radiation emitting smartphones has been compiled by Statista and happily our most admired Samsung phones are categorized among the least radiation emitting models and to be specific the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has surfaced as the phone which emits the lowest radiation with its specific absorption rate (SAR) being 0.17 watts per kilogram.
Xiaomi Mi A1 having the specific absorption rate of 1.74 watts per kilogram stands ahead of the list emitting the most radiation according to the list published by statista whereas OnePlus 5T standing second to the most has an absorption rate of 1.68 watts per kilogram. The third position has been taken Mi Max 3 with the specific absorption rate being 1.58 watts per kilogram. OnePlus’ latest flagship which is OnePlus 6T is one of the top five smartphones emitting the most radiation with its absorption rate being 1.55 watts per kilogram.
Premium models including Apple iPhone 8, Google Pixel 3 XL and Pixel 3 were also featured by Statista as being the smartphones that emit high levels of radiation. Any Samsung model, however, is not on the list.
Contrary to this list, another one was compiled by Statista which reveals the smartphones that emit the least amount of radiation and they include several Samsung models including Galaxy A8 (2018), Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S9+, Galaxy S8+, and Galaxy S7 Edge. The list also includes other smartphone models such as Moto 5G Plus, HTC U11 Life, ZTE Axon Elite, and LG G7 ThinQ which emit less radiation significantly.
