Sega returns to their 60th birthday, hence they are going to celebrate it in good fashion. The company just reported that it’ll celebrate its 60th birthday with a new website, and special content coming on June 3.
The new website is actually up, and it is quite good. It is a commemorative micro site, featuring tons of nostalgia stuff. The website also shows almost all SEGA products produced from 1960 to this day. It has a tab, which says “GO SEGA”, afterwards, it’ll show you a campaign message by Haruki Satomi, Chairman of SEGA Holdings.
“The SEGA Group is planning a variety of special content for this 60th anniversary. Through this special content, we will deliver the passion of the SEGA Group to the entire world. We hope you’ll continue to engage with us throughout the year,”
COVID-19 delays their event
Furthermore, they will also start a fan submission board on April 21. They will collect all messages, and submit them on June 3. The COVID-19 is all over the world, hence SEGA has not announced any relevant time for their celebratory event. SEGA has also introduced a new character SEga Shiro.
Sega Shiro, who is he?
Sega Shiro is a new mascot actually, who is the real-son of Segata. Sega’s real name is Maito Fujioka, and he is the son of Hiroshi Fujioka. Maito Fujioka or Sega Shiro is the new face of SEGA Company, after his father. It looks like, he will carry his legacy. Sega Shiro’s father Hiroshi Fujioka, was well known for his role as the original Kamen Rider, Takeshi Hongo.
Lastly, SEGA is also giving everyone a chance to win a premium leather chalk bag. Like I previously said, you need to send SEGA a fan-message on their website. The winners will be announced on June 3.
