Very recently, we saw numerous leaks regarding Sony’s PlayStation 5 Pre-Order. The Console was spotted on Play-Asia, Amazon, and many more sites. At first glance, these leaks looked to be true, considering most of these sites are quite authoritative. However, nearly all were later deleted, and no official announcement was backing them up.
Now Sony has come forward to clear some doubts, regarding PS5’s pre-order date, and how it’ll happen. During a video interview, PlayStation’s Worldwide Marketing Head Eric Lempel stated “No, definitely not now. We don’t know what happened there [with the rumors]. We had nothing to do with it. I got a message from someone saying people were lining up at stores and we had no idea why.
“So I think it’s safe to say, we’ll let you know when pre-orders will happen. It’s not going to happen with a minute’s notice. We’re going to at some point let you know when you can pre-order a PlayStation 5 so please don’t feel like you have to go run and line up anywhere until you receive official notice on how that will work.”
So it seems, there is still time, and we will be notified beforehand. Likewise, ignore all the upcoming leaks simply because they aren’t official. Apart from Pre-Order, we have heard other things about the PlayStation 5. The Console will come in two variants, Digital and Standard Edition. The Digital won’t come with an Ultra HD Blue-Ray disc drive and will be slightly cheap. Further, we have also seen the game boxes of PlayStation 5 and they look quite similar to PS4.
Lastly, the console’s manufacturing has also been tweaked. Now the amount of console’s planned to be manufactured is doubled till the end of the year. PlayStation 5 is set to release later this year.
