2019 is proving to be the year of the Battle Royale genre and many developers have shown their interest in developing games in the genre to compete for the top game of the year. There is no saying how long the hype for the BR games will last and whether it will stay as competitive as it is right now or not in the future. Since there have been a lot of releases in the category, we at PGRepublic will be mentioning our favourites from the battle royale genre. So without further ado lets get straight into it!

PUBG
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is one of the pioneers of the genre to which we can attribute most of the success of the Battle Royale hype train. PUBG has a come a long way since its introduction and has added two new maps to its mix, Sanhok and Vikendi and some other features like dynamic weather and bullet penetration. However, the game may have been the one to begin the hype train for the genre, it still failed to address issues like the in-game cheating and the absurd amounts of game-breaking bugs that the developers failed to fix or address resulting in many players opting for other game in the genre.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout
Seeing how popular the genre had become, franchises like Call of Duty have decided to enter the market and have a taste of glory for themselves as well. Treyarch recreates a lot of nostalgia blended in with with their faster paced take on Battle Royale with their very own CoD: Black Ops 4 Blackout. The game is exciting and very smooth to say the least with very pleasing visuals, however, the game is a bit overpriced considering the fact that most of the games that are in this genre are free-to-play!
Ring Of Elysium
Tencent has gone on to release their very own Battle Royale game featuring a
Battlefield V Firestorm
Battlefield V has followed the footsteps of CoD and has come up with their own take on the BR genre called Firestorm. The map will feature 64 players and will be hosted on one of the largest maps in the history of Battlefield. The players will be pushed closer to each other by a ring of fire hence the name Firestorm. Personally for me since I prefer realistic combat over any other, this is one of the games that I am looking forward to. There are hints of vehicular combat and helicopters and tanks that are going to be a part of this BR game and it is totally insane! Surely one of the most anticipated BR games of 2019!
