We heard about more games coming to the Xbox Game Service, which include titles like Football Manager 2020 and Stranger Things: 3. Similarly today Microsoft has announced that more than 10 million people subscribed to their Xbox Game Pass service.

Xbox Game Pass

The Netflix of Games

Xbox Game Pass is like the Netflix of games. You pay for the subscription, afterward, you get access to more than 100 Xbox and PC titles for free. The monthly subscription usually costs $10, however, there is an introductory offer that will land you first month for just $1.

We recently heard about Steam breaking its playerbase record thrice in just a couple of weeks. The game store now has more than 20 million users, which is astonishing. It is very understandable that these numbers are increasing due to the COVID-19 because most of the people are at home time passing.

Well, Phil Spencer also agrees to this, and he says that Xbox Game Pass has seen a 70% growth rate after post-COVID-19.

“Since March, Xbox Game Pass members have added over 23 million friends on Xbox Live, which is a 70% growth in friendship rate,” he said. “Game Pass members are also playing twice as much and engaging in more multiplayer gaming, which has increased by 130%.”

Xbox Boss Phil Spencer also says that Xbox and PC players are trying new games due to the subscription.

“After joining, people play 40% more games and more than 90% of members have played a game they wouldn’t have tried without Game Pass – often discovering new genres they have not yet experienced.”

Frank Shaw, who is the current Microsoft Head of communications first announced that brilliant stats associated with Microsoft projects.

The Xbox Game Pass is an excellent and intelligent initiative from Microsoft. I’ve always liked the idea of paying monthly and getting access to hundreds of games, instead of buying new ones. There is also risk involved in buying a new one, what if you get disappointed? Steam and GOG Offer excellent refund services but it all comes down to attractive content.

“People everywhere are turning to gaming to sustain human connection while practicing social distancing,” says Microsoft. “And we continue to deliver new exclusive, first and third-party content to attract and retain gamers.”
