Previously Witcher 3, Minecraft, Apex Legends, and Fortnite have had a tremendous year in terms of success. Game publishers like Epic Games have also progressed in advanced fashion. Similarly, today another title The Sims 4 has achieved 20 million players mark. In a recent report by EA, the 20-year-old title Sims, is still hanging with good player base.

Sims 4 is the latest addition to Sims Games. It was released in 2014, taking over its previous games with much-advanced features and tweaks. Older Sims games like The Sims 2, and 3 were relatively outdated when Sims 4 made its mark. Furthermore, EA CEO Andrew Wilson says that The Sims series will receive a new feature, that could enhance the gameplay.

Wilson Further said that the developer Maxis has bigger plans for Sims. He recalled saying, “think about The Sims for a new generation”. He meant that new games have achieved a huge milestone, with the support of Cloud services, cross-platform play, and Online Gameplay. Andrew Wilson also mentioned the Sims Online era, which unfortunately ended. Additionally, he explained the basics of “social interactions and competition” which Online Game provides. It was sort of hint, that Sims Online might return.

Apart from this, there are rumors that Maxis is working on a new game since September 2018. According to multiple sources, Maxis could be potentially working on a new Sims game. This was specific because Sims Community was hiring new artists, that could design characters, fashion, hair, cloth, and faces. Considering all these engagements, I am pretty sure Sims Online would be back, or a new installment, potentially Sims 5 is in development.
