I recently wrote about the massive success of Half-Life: Alyx even though it has not been released yet. Valve is currently dealing with massive Index VR drought in the market, however, they did not waste a minute denying Left 4 Dead 3 rumors.

Today, Valve confirms that Left 4 Dead 3 absolutely not in development. This news popped up to Valve after there were many rumors that Left 4 Dead 3 is being developed, and many leaks were shared. However, Valve has denied these claims saying “We’ve seen rumors to this effect for the last couple of months. We did briefly explore some Left 4 Dead next gen opportunities a few years ago. But we are absolutely not working on anything L4D related now, and haven’t for years. It’s clear some people are having fun creating misinformation to spin up the community and other outlets. Unfortunately, for now a new L4D game is not something we’re working on.”

Hence, Left 4 Dead 3 rumors are false but it is exciting that Valve saw some opportunities in the next-gen Left 4 Dead game. Furthermore, Valve says that it is not in their interest right now, but they clearly have seen another Left 4 Dead game that could be made. Thus, you can expect Valve starting to work on it anytime after Half-Life: Alyx is released.

Apart from the Valve statement, Alvin Wang Grayline, HTC President shared his slides from a presentation on VR to Twitter. The slides mentioned Left 4 Dead 3 along Half-Life: Alyx, which made everyone suspicious. Afterward, this thing went viral on Twitter and everyone started talking about the rumor. Well, Valve has denied this, but I am thinking that Left 4 Dead 3 is the next project on their list.
