Previously, I wrote about Index VR being out of stock all over the world. Afterward, Valve announced that the Index VR will be back before Half-Life: Alyx is released next month. They also said that Coronavirus was behind the delay for Index VR.

Today, Valve has announced that Index VR will be back in stock on March 9, 10am PT. Most of the countries on this specific day will have the Index VR available for players. I’m sure pretty that whenever it gets back, it’ll be out of stock before Half-Life: Alyx is released.

Valve has also acknowledged the insane demand of the Index VR. They wrote “Recent demand for the Index system has been high, so we do expect that available stock on hand will sell out quickly. We will continue to take orders after those units have been sold, so purchases beyond this initial quantity will be fulfilled in the order in which they are received, as supplies increase over the coming months.”

Get it before its too late
Valve also said that the original number of VR kits planned won’t be manufactured because of the Coronavirus threat. Most of their Kits are being made in China, hence the delay. I’d recommend anyone interested in this VR kit to get it as soon as possible on March 9, because Index VR might go out of stock for a long time. This re-stocking has many limited pieces, which were manufactured during Coronavirus. The virus has now spread to many European and Asian Countries, making impossible for Valve to manufacture more.

Half-Life: Alyx is set to release on March 23. It is available on pre-order at Steam for $18.
