After serving for 15 years at Microsoft, McCulloch has decided to leave Xbox. McCulloch was the head of Xbox Live for more than two years. Along with that, he had a tremendous experience with Mixed Reality, HoloLens Studio, Microsoft Game Studious, Kinect titles, and a lot of Xbox stuff. It seems that McCulloch is not leaving the games industry, but has decided to join another company. He has not revealed, which company he will join but in his farewell statement, McCulloch said “I will be announcing that very soon, you all will be pumped”.
“After 15 years at XBOX, I announced today that I would be leaving,” McCulloch wrote. “I made so many friends, learned so much and truly had a blast!
“I’m extremely excited about the next opportunity in my career and I will be announcing that very soon, you all will be pumped! ? Thank you!”
Apart from McCulloch, Xbox’s Senior Executive Mike Ybbara also left to join Blizzard. This happened all the way back on October 24, 2019. We reported that Mike had left Xbox at good times, and joined Blizzard at a very crucial time. During those days, Blizzard was heavily criticized for banning the Heartstone player “Blitzchung”. During live steam, the professional ESports player said “liberate China”. Afterward, he was instantly banned, and his winnings were taken. The decision was later reverted.
Anyhow, McCulloch is also leaving Microsoft at a very exciting time. The company will be announcing its next-generation console later this year. Apart from that, the company is very stable and it seems McCulloch was a big fan of challenges.
