Well, Microsoft promised us that first look into Xbox Series X gameplays will feature Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The upcoming title from Ubisoft has been on headlines from the past few days, and fans were pretty excited about the reveal.
The original Assassin’s Creed Valhalla trailer did not feature any clips from the game, so fans were eager to find out how the gameplay would look like. Yesterday’s, Xbox Series X event was meant to do that, but it failed miserably. The trailers were the same as the original trailer, it did not feature any gameplay. There were no details about the game itself, which was very disappointing.
Ubisoft North American YouTube channel featured the gameplays, and it has received terrible feedback. The video has 22K likes and a whopping 40K Dislikes. Along with that, the Xbox channel has also gotten 6.5K Dislikes.
Ubisoft creative director Ashraf Ismail also acknowledged the criticism posed by fans, and tweeted “you will see in-depth gameplay and get a lot more info about the game”
Apart from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the Xbox Series X event did not go well either. Xbox promised that viewers will get to see new games running on their upcoming console. However, nothing like that happened. Similar to the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla case, the games had cinematic trailer running on a screen and it was very boring obviously.
Xbox Marketing Manager also thinks that they set wrong expectations, and they made a mistake.
In my opinion, the trailers were bad and they did not give us insight into Xbox Series X. However, in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla case, I don’t know why people are so upset. The gameplay on the Assassins Creed game is so obvious, every game features the same style. We look forward to other gaming events happening this year. Maybe, they could give what fans wanted.
